The challenge is to develop a unifi ed understanding of resilience as it applies to urban planning and development. Resilience varies in contexts like nature, psychology, business, and technology, com- plicating efforts to achieve it. A coherent defi nition is necessary to facilitate collaboration across disciplines and enhance the resilience of cities and regions. To address the resilience challenge, this MLU proposes using LDTs to simulate and prepare for stressors in urban environments. The LDT as tool enables learners to predict, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with environmental changes or societal shifts, enhancing a city’s ability to adapt and recover. The content of this MLU involves building a common understan- ding of resilience through discussion, association exercises, and scenario development. The focus is on collaboration and multidi- sciplinary exchange between all stakeholders in order to develop resilient urban environments.
