Effective implementation of LDTs in urban planning requires transparent communication with the public, but challenges arise in determining when and how much information to share. Mismanaged transparency can lead to slowing down processes, raising unrealistic expectations, or causing public mistrust, necessitating a strategic and sensitive approach. The proposed approach involves crafting a structured roadmap for LDT projects that outlines development phases and communication strategies. This roadmap not only aids in project planning but also helps in deciding when to inform or involve the public and specialists, ensuring transparency aligns with project goals without exposing vulnerabilities. This MLU teaches LDT communication strategies by outlining specifi c project phases, from needs assessment to scale operations. It emphasizes public engagement, data transparency, and risk management at each stage, supported by an activity like creating roadmaps and utilizing strategic design tools. This fosters informed decision-making and builds trust in LDT deployments.
