Digital systems often lack inclusivity because designers over- look user interfaces’ impact on diverse users. This unintentional neglect leads to accessibility barriers, particularly for people with disabilities. Designers are faced with the task of respecting the broad spectrum of user experiences and designing in a self- refl ective and user-oriented manner, to avoid digital discrimination. The challenge is ensuring a design that embraces diverse abilities to democratize digital participation. Design solutions should incorporate accessibility from the outset, emphasizing minimalistic and adaptable user interfaces that accom- modate diverse needs and abilities. Techniques like screen readers, voice control, and high-contrast design are crucial. Collaboration with affected communities, inclusive testing, and iterative feedback loops ensure practical solutions that prevent exclusion and enhance usability. This MLU educates learners about accessibility in digital design by exploring both conceptual and practical approaches to inclusivity. It emphasizes the importance of communication, critical asses- sment of design choices, and collaboration with affected users to identify and remove barriers, creating environments that are universally welcoming and functional.
