Limited resources such as time and budget constrain urban planners and municipal employees in engaging citizens effectively in urban planning processes. Authentic feedback is vital, yet obtaining it is challenging due to barriers like inadequate resources, lack of direct contact with citizens, and difficulties in integrating diverse feedback into planning decisions. Employing microlearning strategies, this MLU proposes minimal-effort, “one-click” participation formats that support inclusive citizen engagement. It emphasizes the triple-loop learning approach, advocating for a paradigm shift in thinking to simplify participation processes and enhance data collection quality, while ensuring that feedback genuinely influences urban planning decisions. This MLU introduces creative, low-threshold strategies for motivating citizens to participate in planning. By integrating tactics like QR codes, mobile participation setups, and collaboration with local influencers, the unit provides learners with practical tools and exercises to engage communities effectively while overcoming common participation barriers, allowing for informed and inclusive urban development.
