Immersive experiences enhance urban planning by bridging abstract concepts and practical understanding, but traditional methods lack emotional engagement and interactivity. Participants often struggle to visualize implications of design decisions impacting their daily lives. This challenge highlights the need for effective methods to incorporate immersive technology fostering meaningful citizen participation in planning processes. Solutions leverage technologies like Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality to create engaging, participatory environments. These experiences, supported by methods incorporating multisensory stimuli, allow citizens to intuitively understand planned urban changes. Innovative designs incorporate interactive elements using LDTs, enabling citizens to visualize, critique, and improve urban planning decisions, thus democratizing decision-making processes. The MLU proposes immersive technologies enabling citizens to actively engage in urban planning. Learners learn how technological tools can render concepts tangible, fostering understanding and empathy. By designing and implementing personalized interactive experiences, learners master immersive environments’ power to facilitate participation and informed decision-making, promoting thoughtful urban development.
