Administrations aim to enhance public participation but face challenges in defining clear goals and methods. These should align with citizens’ abilities and resources. Addressing these elements will foster inclusive, meaningful involvement. The MLU proposes utilizing LDTs to visualize and simulate planning decisions, increasing transparency and engagement. It advocates diverse participation formats, such as surveys, workshops, and events, to ensure inclusive decision-making. The methodology follows Sherry Arnstein’s Ladder of Citizen Participation to evaluate influence levels. This MLU educates on the application of LDTs and formats for citizen participation, focusing on informing, involving, and inspiring citizens. It covers tools like the AIStakeMap for identifying stakeholders and guidelines for genuinely inclusive processes, ensuring effective, respectful engagement across various community segments and participation levels.
